Brian has twenty-two years of coaching and leadership experience as a masters, age group, and senior Head Coach in Western, Huronia, and Central Regions He brings enthusiasm to the pool deck. He has had swimmers attend, final, and medal at Regional, Provincial and National level meets, and is NCCP Level 3 certified. He has coached swimmers to successful swims across Lake Ontario(2011) and the English Channel(2012), and coached a swimmer at the World Jr FINA Open Water Championships(2012). He has served as a Swim Ontario Board of Director(2009-13), on the Ontario Swim Coaches Board, and on various Regional Boards in the three regions he has coached in.
With the assistance of several capable coaches and a dedicated Board of Directors, the Team, under Brian’s leadership provides an opportunity for our young swimmers to grow in confidence and achieve success in and out of the Pool
Coach - Junior Performance
Coach Nancy has been coaching nearly every level of Sharks swimmers for the past several years. She has an extensive background in performing at an elite level in both swimming and gymnastics. She also coaches LKSSAA Swimming in the Chatham-Kent area. Currently Nancy focuses most of her energy with the Junior Performance group as well as assisting in any other group when the need arises. Nancy is the face of Sharks on deck at most invitational and provincial level meets.
Coach - Junior
Coach Mike has recently joined the coaching staff with the Chatham Y Pool Sharks and brings with him an extensive background in coaching multiple sports including LKSSAA level swimming. Mike is dedicated to the JR and SR sqauds of swimmers with the Chatham Y Pool Sharks and invests most of his energy helping junior level swimmers take a step towards becoming the elite swimmers of the future. Mike focuses on generating success in the S.E.A.L. League as well preparing swimmers to achieve and maintain regional level time standards.
Coach - Tyke, Senior, Junior Masters
Coach Colleen has been a member of the Sharks coaching staff for 3 years and has extensive experience with the Junior Sharks, the Masters and the Swim School Programs. In her time with the Sharks she has devoted much of her energy teaching the fundamentals of swimming in a way that keeps young kids engaged. Coach Colleen’s focus revolves around the S.E.A.L. League and helping to generate success for swimmers that builds confidence both at and away from the pool.
Coach Dave currently operates as an alternate coach for the Senior Performance squad. Dave has an extensive history with the Chatham Y Pool Sharks and has coached all levels of athletes. Like Reg, he can be counted on to fill in at any capacity or level required should scheduling conflicts arise. Dave is also a wealth of knowledge around the pool and is very approachable, if you have a swimming related question of any kind, odds are Dave has the answer.
Reg Johnson the Chatham Y Pool Sharks. He has been with the club in a coaching capacity since our inception. If anyone has swam in Chatham, Reg has probably touched their life. Currently Reg is the go-to guy when any of the coaches have scheduling conflicts. He can be counted on to step into any swimming group at any time and make an impact. He is incredible with recreational level swimmers as well as the performance level swimmers. He truly is the jack of all trades and the Sharks are incredibly lucky to have him.
Mike is the newest member of the Sharks coaching team. While he completed his certification he was assisting with the Tyke and Novice group. Mike has an extensive background in multiple sports and is an asset not only on the deck but also behind the scenes for the Chatham Y Pool Sharks.
